Need some advice concerning file transfer with a serial connection

Hi,
I have a SCO Unix ver 5.0.7 from which I need to get some files. The problem is that I'm working remotely (have no physical access) and using Dejawin because this server is only has a serial connection to a Windows machine. Ucopy isn't on the server. What I was thinking is to do a print redirection, but I would really appreciate some help.

I've never done it under a windows environment but with the right terminal emulator you can embed control codes at the beginning and end of the print job to switch the emulator from screen dump to printer port dump.

If you have a multiport serial card driving the modem it is possible that the required printer stuff is built into the software.

It might help if you do a who and tell us what port you are logged in on. Port names can sometimes indicate what type of serial comms you have.

You could try kermit from columbia.edu, or there are several Windows versions of uucp.
Both will handle binary files.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond, but it seems I will have access to this computer. I was thinking of mounting the SCO partition on with Ubuntu live CD but I'm not sure what's the file system in SCO 5.0.7. I'm sorry but I don't have a lot of knowledge on UNIX systems.

Correct if I'm wrong is the filesystem HTFS or DTFS

The DTFS file system is only available with the Desktop (2 user) version of 5.0.7.
As far as I know, there is no way to mount either file system with Linux.
Why not just copy the files to CD, install a CD/DVD writer if one is not already installed, and use 'cdrecord' to create a CD.

Would any USB key work I remember reading somewhere that they were supported in 5.0.7.
I will do some test on a virtual machine and see what happens but thanks a lot for your suggestions.
