Computer Add memory and EDI hard disk space

Dear all


I would like to know if you have face to the problems as add

1. 256 MB DDR Ram memory
2. IDE 40 GB slaved hard-disk

my current machine is GA-SIML Rev 1.0, 1.6 GHz CPU, 1GB HDD, 256 MB DDR-Ram memory, as I add another 256 DDR-Ram, and 40 GB Slaved EDI Hard disk it, the systems does not regconise, so I would like to know if anyone out there having experience with add memory, hard disk space to SCO openserver?

I have another experience as swap 2x256 DDR-Ram by 1 512 MB DDR-Ram, the systems became panic,

any help will be great appreciate

To add the hard drive run:
mkdev hd
and follow the prompts.
Then run mkdev hd again after rebooting.
Run scoadmin->filesystems->add mount

The memory problem sounds like the memory is incompatible with the mother board. If you still have the motherboard manual, check to see if the brand and speed of the memory you have is in the list of supported memory.
