Dear All

I am a newbie in this forums, I need your expertise assistant on my SCO OpenServer

I am currently facing to the BiG problems like this one:

I supposed the file is missing, could you please check if you still have that in your server.

I also need the SCO Open server 5.0.2 Installation disk.

I really appreciated your time reading this message

Why do you think that your application software (Timewise) will only run on 5.0.2 and not 5.0.4, or 5.0.5 or 5.0.6?
Is your license key for the Host system (no TCP), or Enterprise?

Thank you for your response JGT, I have liaised with Timewise developer, they recommence to me that Timewise working on informix sql database, and informix database is only work on certain SCO Server 5.0.2

The main problems that many previous Technical People had faced to is they could not find SCO installations diskette anywhere at all. beside that the new generation of TimeWise does not meet my workplace's requirements, that why no-one can replace that server. Smilie and it is stills working until nowaday Smilie

I strongly believed there must be someone around this world may have it and still have it, that why I keep asking help from forums to forums.

Please do not be sensitive about licences, because I have contacted SCO and confirm my licence is valid. JGT, could you please help, thank you

I have checked my [archives|junk pile], and I have media kits for 5.0.4, 5.0.5 and 5.0.6.
I have one customer, who started off with a 5.0.0, and has upgraded all the way to 5.07., I will check with them tomorrow to see if they have a 5.0.2 media kit. I also have Informix 3.3 on 5-1/4 diskettes, that runs on 5.0.7, and I have another customer who uses Lyrix, that he purchased for 286 Xenix in 1987, that runs on 6.0.0.
Unless your application uses the Netscape Web Server, I am hard pressed to understand why it will not run on any of the later versions.
There was a change in 5.0.4 that would preclude you from installing programs via "custom" that were prepared for an earlier version.
You can use the file /etc/perms/informix to create a tarball (use absolute file names) of all the files that Informix uses, and restore the tarball onto a later release (post 5.0.4) and expect that the application will still work.

I have a 5 user enterprise complete set available, purchased used off ebay a long time ago. I've got $106 in it, which is a little more than the media kit.
If you are interested, you can leave a private message.

The media is common across all installation types as the activation code that goes with your system will install the correct files.
