Problem with bigfiles on NFS (celerra)

Hi ya'll

i have a weird problem...
every time i try to copy a big DBF file to my computer the computer crushes...
the filesystem is an NFS mount on a Celerra machine...
the OS is RedHat 4

any 1 have an idea?
mabe some kernel params went wrong?

How big is the file ? Which is the version of NFS being used ? NFSv4 has some improvements. From the log file seems that during copy the machine runs out of memory, so you may stop the oracle process, copy and then start it again.
