(.) at the end of file attribute.
Hi Linux Experts,

I am using RHEL 6.4, on checking I identified some files ends with the file attribute like [-rw-------.] dot (.) at the end. Whereas, I checked with the same level of other servers and I don't identify dot(.) at the end of file attribute. Why is it so? is there any meaning for it.

It means, that the file has a SELinux security context.

But, I have disabled the selinux in the list of servers I am checking and if some servers has some doesn't. I am confused.

SELinux security contexts are extended attributes stored with all kinds of filesystem objects, If you disable SELinux, the attributes are still on disk, they are just not used for checking.

Hi, I need to find out when a file has been created. 'ls -l' just lists the last date the file was modified.
