on LPAR, since LPAR doesn't have any console or it is connected to HMC

I am using Xming tool to open the my RHEL machine remotely in UI mode. When I use xclock command using 'root', the command works properly and I can see the clock pop-up. However, when I run the 'xclock' command using oracle user I get an error, which is shown in the attached file.

I log into putty with X11 forward enable
echo $DISPLAY
DISPLAY=localhost:10.0
export DISPLAY

i had tried to run the xclock after i login into my HP UX machine using the C shell in the Services for Unix (Windows) but the xclock does not pop up. Do anyone has the same issue? Do i need to install some X windows package as well? Thanks (1 Reply)

I want to run xclock but it fail to run :(
I have launch export DISPLAY=10.23.17.60:0
Then launch xclock but it will produce some error saying it failed.

Hi,
I need to install Oracle on HP-UX 11.23.But I'm unable to start xclock to check if x-server is working fine or not.
Have tried connecting using reflection but no luck.
Have also set the display but still it does not work.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have no idea how to do this:

Hi everyone,
could you explain why am I not able to bring up xclock, or for that matter any Xtools (xcalc etc...), in the background?
When I execute:
xclock &
This brings up the clock in the foreground, my focus is on the clock, not back in my command window.
Any suggestion?

Hello.
I am trying to run xclock on newly built solaris box - These are the steps I followed:
# DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
# export DISPLAY
# xclock
xclock: not found
# cd /usr/openwin/bin
# ./xclock
Error: Can't open display: localhost:0.0
