Deleting using "find -mtime" not working
This command used to work in my old Linux servers to delete old files (older than 2 days, in this case) but it suddenly not working at all--

PHP Code:
find /path/to/dir/* -mtime 2 -exec rm {} \; 
Anything I am missing? Would appreciate any tips.

Does /path/to/dir exist and does it allow the user running the command to delete files?

If this worked before on the identical /path, and does not work now, it has to be permissions and/or the existence of the /path components

Also, -mtime 2 will find files exactly two days old. You need -mtime +2 to find files older than two days.

This command does not delete files which are older than 2 days old. It deletes files which are 2 days old.

The path definitely exists. The user is root. Anything else?

I have seen this same command fail in Oracle Linux - the solution was to include the path to rm (/bin/rm) in the command. Even though /bin was already in the path, that fixed it.

Are you typing the amended command with -type f and -mtime +2 ?

Does the command fail with an error message?
Does the command do nothing?
Does the command do the wrong thing?

Do you need the asterisk in /path/to/dir/*? - if not, just remove the asterisk character to stop Shell expanding the asterisk in case there something in /path/to/dir which is upsetting Shell.

"find . -printf" without prepended "." path? Getting path to current working directory?
