how are you modifying the crontab?

with the help of command "crontab -e" ; changing the fields with the help of "i= insert' "r=replace" "x=delete the single caracter" and ":wq!= save and quit"

I beleive i have to delete the .out file when ever new runs , I'm not sure please confirm.

no, you do not have to delete the out file. > will overwrite.
