Question sar error - please give a smaller interval value
Hiii All....

I am stuck at a monitoring issue, and need your help urgently.

I am trying to run
# sar 1 1

but I am getting error messages like:
"Please give a smaller interval value"
Smilie Smilie

I am using RHEL 5.7 and sysstat-9.x, on zVM.

I tried to erase and reinstall the package too.
Kindly help me guys... I will be very great full to receive your help...!!!

Are u aware that the first argument is counted in seconds?

First of all thanks satish51392111 replying to my query.

Yes I am aware of the fact that the first argument is seconds and the second one is the number of samples.


The output of this command, shows the gathered data,
but doesn't show me the average and instead gives the error as:
"Please give a smaller interval value"

When I searched for this issue on Google, I found that I was fixed in earlier versions, but don't know how, I am getting the same issue.

I would like to add one more info, regarding it, that same sysstat version, running on another RHEL 5.7 image is running perfectly fine.

compare the interval of 2 numbers of input2with interval of several numbers of input1

Help plz Does any one have any idea how to compare interval ranges of 2 files. finding 1-4 (1,2,3,4) of input2 in input1 of same key "a" values (5-10, 30-40, 45-60, 80-90, 100-120 ).
