I want to setup sendmail using my username and password on my ISP to be able to send out messages.
I'm using Linux. So far, what I've done is modified the sendmail.mc with the following changes:
In my /etc/mail/authinfo, I have the following:
Now whenever I try sending by executing a simple sendmail command:
I always get a Sender Rejected error mail back.
This is actually true as the mylocaldomain is not a public Internet domain. Just a localdomain for our local network. However, I was expecting that to change to the username in my authinfo "myusername@myispdomain" since this account is authorized to send out email with my ISP.
Any ideas on how I can do this?
Thanks.

Hi,
I notice that my relay on sendmail.cf is just "DS" and no ip. So I guess, it's using the local DNS to relay my mail which sometimes being spammed. I would like to add a new relay ip "DSxxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" on sendmail.cf.
What do I need to edit sendmail.cf? Do I just use vi or m4?

Hello!! Mau I know is there anyway that I can set the sendmail to relay the mail to different mail server base on the domain name?
For example,
Mail for abc.test.com will be sent to 1.1.1.1
and
Mail for def.example.com will be sent to 2.2.2.2
