Read only file system : File show as ? ? ? ?
I have a test system, user which I have my home directory.

/home/hansini

The files under this directory show as

?--------- ? ? ? ? ? sam.sh
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? DDD

I know on the test system OS is corrupt and it is read only file system.

If I go to some other user and say ls -l all files shows up correctly ( I can not do read/write on them as OS is corrupt)

Since the files under my home directory shows ???, does that mean the OS got corrupt because of my application?

How to debug on what caused the OS to get corrupt.

Thanks in advance.

Can you try remounting the root FS.

#mount -n -o remount,rw /

Sorry for the late reply.

Before I could mount the root FS the system was rebooted.
