Huh? Ping is not how you check DNS.
If you want to check DNS then you use DIG:

dig dns.tuffy.org
dig www.tuffy.org
dig -x 172.22.45.237

Give those a try and see if you get a response.

Never mind. I have managed to solve the problem. The problem was that I have wrongly configured my resolv.conf file. Thanks anyway
