Red Hat https sites not opening.

Hi I am working on Red Hat 5. WHile logging form root too I am getting a strange thing.
Whenever I try to open the https sites on any browser a blank screen appears, but once I delete cookies and refresh, this page reappears.
What may be the reason for that and is it some kind of bug?

Does the same behavior occur if you're browsing as a regular user? Running a browser with root privileges might not be the best idea, BTW.

Cheers.
Loïc.

Can you please explain how running the browser as root user is not the good idea?

Because browser are not reputedly secure, that is subject to exploits. If your browser runs with root privileges, then the exploit can easily gain control over the machine where the browser runs. ( The general philosophy in UNIX is known as 'least privilege principle': a process should run with the lowest privileges possible).

Concerning your other question, I must alas pass.

You should never run your browser as the root user.
