Can someone explain what is the status says WAIT on performance monitoring
command..

It is supposed to be intuitive! I would guess the parent is wait() on child proc. What can a process do: run on CPU, queue for cpu, block on I/O, wait for child, zombie waiting for parent to take SIGCHILD at exit, sleep until signal, . . . .

Did not use 'wait' yet. How I understand by now the wait works only for child processes, started background.
