Hi,

I have to move user account from solaris to Linux environment because I don't want user to create password again in Linux environment, so could somebody confirm me how to do it, I know there are files /etc/groups, /etc/passwd and /etc/shadows need to copy but somebody confirm me what is the best approach and safe way,

I would really appreciate help in this regard.

Can somebody help me on this plz.

Might not be the easiest approach but mine would be to have user accounts defined in a remote database, like NIS or LDAP and have both Solaris and Linux machines being client of it. Migrating accounts generally also generally imply moving home directories which might be raise some different issues.
