Question Trying to understand how to use vim

Hi there. I'm new at UNIX, but want to learn and understand it. I'm reading the Fedora and RHEL book, but I'm not sure how to use vim to create an alias in my .bash_profile. Can you point me in the right direction please? Smilie

Open the console or a terminal emulation. Enter 'vim .bash_profile'. Enter 'G' (that's shift-g) to go to the last line. Enter 'o'. Enter 'alias <mnemonic>=<command>'. Enter Escape. Enter ':wq'. Close/logout and open again. Now you alias should be working.
