open .php file

hi all

i saved myfile.php to the Desktop.
how can i run mysite.php file by programatically.

Code:
popen(/usr/bin/mozilla /root/Desktop/myfile.php","r")

it is not working.

can you please show me the way

mozilla must be running under xterm - a windowed environment. popen does not provide that.

I know how to check if any file has a unix process using a file by looking at 'lsof <fullpath/filename>' command. I think using lsof is very expensive.
