missing char when send()

IN void parent_process(),
printf("buf value=%c\n",buf[i]);
I was able to see correct value printed,

/**** refer to void get_trxn(, ,)
eg: 11^\000^\^\^\13^\;6033392398372838=00000000000000000000?^\^\ADI D ^\00100000^\=2=07:?3092>659;
****/

but somehow when after
printf("Press Enter to Sent:>");

it only sent out

2398372838=00000000000000000000?^\^\ADI D ^\00100000^\=2=07:?3092>659;

some front char has missing, and i couldn't figure out where cause the problem, appreciate for your guide.

ps: how may i attach my full source?

get_trxn(buf, trxn_type);
buf_len = strlen(buf);
printf("LEN=%d\n", buf_len);
printf("buf=%d\n", buf);
for (i=0; i< (int)strlen(buf); i++)
printf("buf value=%c\n",buf[i]);
printf("Press Enter to Sent:>");
fflush(stdin);
scanf("%c", &tmp);
