Date validation in mysql
Hi All,

We need to create the custom function to pass the parameter is date.if it is valid return 1 else 0
return should be 1
Code:
select is_date('2012-09-17');

return should be 0
Code:
select is_date('2012-79-17');

Wrong forum, but generally, the first question is, is this a critical edit for a YYYY-MM-DD date, or is it an "anything that converts to datetime not null is OK, laissez-faire" sort of validation? There are lots of date string parsers: MySQL :: MySQL 5.5 Reference Manual :: 12.7 Date and Time Functions
