Client server in parallel

Hello,

Please, I have two tasks: client and server (two tasks that run in parallel)
I do not know in advance which machine will exeute the client task and which machine will execute the task server. the client needs the server IP @ ...
Assuming that the server connects sends its @ ip to a machine known by the client. The client may well retrive this address to connect ..
The question: Do i have a problem here if the client is blocked because the server has not yet sent its IP address?

Thank you so much

Your model has issues. The system cannot be double blind. For example, if the client starts, it has to know where to expect the server.

Or the server has to broadcast to all nodes, 'here I am' ( not always a great idea, some broadcast-style UDP based protocols like SNMP work this way.) So the client listens on a predetermined port for the broadcast, then uses that information to connect.

The most sane approach is for the user is to start a client or start a server, then have the app connect to the remote node and start the required code. This means the person starting the app has to know where the server needs to live. Or there has to be a configuration file that forces the connection to happen to somewhere.
