All I'm pointing out is that you can't cover all possible algorithms. Even if you somehow cover all known ones, someone can just invent another on you, or just plain do something you didn't expect.

And then there's the problem of trying to figure out the intent of a running program, from the outside in.

yes, I know but even if a task is impossible to complete 100%, I still like to get as close as possible. that's why I started the thread.
