awk '!A[$1]++' ORS=', ' infile | sed 's/, $/\n/'
-same solution ;) -

$ awk 'BEGIN { ORS=", " } !A[$1]++' < data

First, we set ORS=", " so it prints ", " instead of \n for each "line".

The next is an expression telling it when to print. ...

I think a simple sort unique will work:


sort -u file1 file2

sed 's/^[0-9]*//;s/:/ /;s/</ /;s/,/ /g' inputfile | awk '{NF-=1;print}'

sed "s#+:<#\t#g"
