Try this:
grep 'SQL CD' infile | sed -r 's/.*SQL CD : *([0-9]*).*/\1/'

your command gives the correct ouput.

In the pattern area, the backslash is only necessary before the opening bracket, the otherone before the closing bracket is useless (since no opening bracket before, it is taken as litteral) :
$...

bash-3.00$ sed -e 's/\]/&&/g' -e 's/\[/&&/g' /tmp/myfile
if [[ a -eq 1 ]]
