There is a pre-requisite for running SAP that you need to disable a large number of ports in the /etc/services file before installing the SAP application.
No do not use route add with AIX as the route will disappear when you reboot the server. The correct way to this is via smithy tcpip and add static route.
If you dive into gcc there are (or at least there used to be) cross-compiler options, that is to say that you coukld use your Solaris machine to compile for an AIX target.
