What's wrong with the "thanks" feature? Once you thank somebody, you can search for posts you've thanked and bingo: There it is.

I suppose one drawback is that you can't thank your own posts...

"thanks" is quite similar with bookmark. but with some differences.
1 ones own post is one, you 've mentioned.
2 I asked a question, someone answered. it worked. but this post i don't want to bookmark. should I "thank" him or not?
3 with bookmark, I can manage it in future. say, remove "favorite" bookmark from some posts. Can "thanks" also do that? I don't know.

Personally, I do not use "Thanks" for "favorites".

If you want to bookmark favorite posts or threads, I recommend you use your browser function.

It is just "too easy" to do this in your browser.

So, from a forum management perspective, we do not recommend you use the "Thanks" facility for managing your favorites, or as a bookmarking tool.

If you want to use "Thanks" for this, fine; but this is not supported by the admin and moderation team.
