Java Unix.com's vB Upgrade

Hi,

I've noticed that you are using vB2 (2.3.5), and Jelsoft has recently released 3.0.3.

Is Unix.com going to upgrade to 3.0.3?

I'm only wondering....

Why should we upgrade to vB 3.0.......?

The 3.0 track is different than the 2.0 track and we are running the lastest 2.0 version.

Do you believe that bigger numbers are better?

(just asking)

The reason I asked is because I see a lot more boards use 3.0, and looking at it, this is one of the only boards still running vB 2.0. (I wish 2.0 was still for download)

And no, I don't find big numbers better. Smaller ones actually suit me. Smilie

Lots of boards use the vB 2 series and this series is actively support by vB.

I prefer to wait until all the kinks are out before upgrading to a major release, unless there is a compelling reason.

So far, I don't know of a compelling reason, but I'm open-minded if there is one, please share.

Thanks for being good natured about my 'big numbers' joke. I've never been one to chase upgrades unless there is a compelling reason.

vB 2.x has worked find so far........ and we don't use many of the features (for many reason).

Good question, BTW.....
