Dotted thread icons

Can you guys please enable the "dotted" icon option, so that the thread icon for a thread in which a user has posted in will appear with a dot in it?

I turned that feature off a long time ago because it was slowing down the site response time.

Surely it couldn't slow it down that much.

Are there any plans on upgrading the forum software?
