Extended man pages

Hi,
Any chance we could have an input pane in the forums
that targets a man page and whose content is output to the bottom
of the man page in this way forming extended man pages with additional know how?

Thanks,
Steve

I think I get it -- he wants to be able to 'reply' to the manpages with howtos and tips.

Good deduction!

Should we create a sub-forum for each of the thousand-or-however-many man pages there are?

I always considered a man page to be a source of reference, not a source of discussion Smilie

Still, it's comforting to know that people do read the man pages!

Thanks for enlightening me.

Now I understand... the PHP man pages at php.net have the same type of thing, where people comment, clarify and write code examples to the man pages.

Neo's got it.

The only difference is to have the forum's knowhow/input be used
to add to the bottom of the page eg: 'to man(N) ...'
as opposed to , as with the php docs, going to the man page and entering it there.

Maybe add the "Similar Threads" type of function to the bottom of the man pages like in the attachment?
