what happened?

A few hours ago I made several reasonable posts to this forum and now they have dissapeared.

I read and followed the rules, and I sure didn't break any, but gone they are Smilie

I know I only joined the forum today, but do the posts have to be authorised or something?

--------------------------
Update:

OK, I found one and it had been moved to the linux forum, which is fair enough as it's a SuSE OpenExchange Server question.

But I still don't understand about my other posts.

Look above the box that contains this reply and examine the box that contains your question. Underneath your question is a button labeled "search". Click that button...you will find all of your posts.

You have three posts including this one. I haven't seen your others.

OK thank you for taking the time to reply.

I'm still at a loss as to what happened to the thread about using the mount command to connect to a windows share though.

I think I will post it again.

Cheers,

Christian

By following the advice that I posted in my first response in this thread, I found:

mounting a directory to a windows 2000 shared folder

I would like to remind you that we have a search function. Our search function can easily find your posts. Our rules require that you use it prior to posting.

I see that you have reposted your question: using the mount command to connect to a windows share Well, I won't delete the superfluous thread, but someone else might.

I did originally use the search function, but I only search for posts containing a subject or reply from my username (cw1972) and only found the three that were mention.

Following your link (https://www.unix.com/windows-and-dos-issues-and-discussions/11453-mounting-directory-windows-2000-shared-folder.html?s=) I get a permission denied error and cannot access the thread.

And as I stated above, I did use the search function, albeit I only searched by my username, which I would have thought to be sufficient as I have only made a handful of posts and all of the being made today.

The reason for my repost, is that I cannot find my original post, despite using the search feature to attempt to find it.

I also cannot access the post of mine that you found using the search feature as it give me a permission denied error.

My final statement is:

- I did read the rules of this forum before posting
- I used the search feature to find relevant posts before posting
- I do believe that I haven't actually broken one of the rules so far

And I hope to be able to gain knowledge from a forum like this, and eventually when I am able, even be able to help out another newbie such as myself.

Thank you for corresponding in this thread anyway.

Yikes! I'm really sorry then. We seem to have a malfuction or something. No wonder you are having problems finding your threads. On our home page, do you see a forum entitled Windows & DOS: Issues & Discussions? If not, you should be able to click the title in this post and get there. Can you see any threads in that forum?

I am not a moderator of that Windows forum. So I can't move the thread out of that forum nor merge it. I have copied RTM's answer into your new thread.
