I cannot connect to the iTunes Store after updating to iTunes 8.0.1 for Mac OS X

If your Mac is configured to access the Internet through a proxy which requires authentication, iTunes may be unable to connect to the iTunes Store after you upgrade to iTunes 8.0.1. You may see this message: iTunes Store not accessible This may occur with iTunes 8.0.1 (11) for Mac OS X. Note: The dialog may also display an error -50.
