iTunes: Synced photos without extensions do not appear on iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Apple TV
If you use iTunes to sync photos from your computer to an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Apple TV, photos that do not have a file extension (such as .jpg, .bmp, or .gif) may not appear on your device after you sync them.
