OSX: Syncing VERY large video files across web

My impressions from recent web explorations has me questioning the
appropriateness of rsync ( or rsyncx ) for syncing large video/movie
files to remote locations.

Background: A friend who edits and creates movies would like to sync
his video files from his place of business to his home. These files are
quite large ( GB+ ). Assuming he starts with an approximate replica at home
how would you OSX gurus achieve sync-tastic perfection?

I do not use OSX for this kind of work and rsync(x) suits me fine, however,
I do not feel qualified to help him as I do not work with this size of file.

What is the recommended OSX/Mac way?

Also, he is not privy to the beauty of OSX's UNIX underpinnings ( ie. NEWB ) and may not appreciate a scripted approach.

As always --- thanks for reading.

Bug

Dear Bubnoff,

I would highly recommend giving the user an inexpensive 500 GB or TB external firewire drive with an FW800/400 interface and have him transfer his data the old fashioned way - at least as a redundant alternative in the event of data loss during what is likely to be a time consuming sync of the type of blobs you suggest.

Regards,
Paul

MacnetDaemon ~

Thanks for the reply. You confirmed that this
is basically an unfeasible configuration for backup ( of the reliable variety anyway ).
