Network Sun Solaris version 10: cron job does not send the default message.
Hi all,

Our servers were on Sun Solaris 8.1, anytime a cron job executed the user ran that job received a email of job's output. I think that the default and Administrator did not setup anything.
However, when we upgraded the OS to Sun Solaris ver.10, the cron job is no longer send a email message "cron output" to user. I'm wondering, the ver 10 lost that default feature or that is a bug of ver10.
Anyone is in the same shoe. Thanks

I haven't heard of that issue - check that mail is going from the server first.
Then check your /var/cron/log file for errors - insure your jobs are actually running to completion. Post back what you find.

No error on the /var/cron/log file
Hi all,

Our UNIX Admin confirmed that:
The mail is going from the server, we can e-mail to each other, we can also e-mail to our cdcr.ca.gov account. I don't see any specific errors pointing to mail in the /var/cron/log file..

Our batch job ran sucessfully without any errors. Our UNIX admin suggested manually send an email message after the job completion.
