/etc/hostname.interface file
I recently brought up a second network interface adapter in my Solaris 8 box. I configured the /etc/hostname.interface (hostname.ce1 in this case) with the hostname of the new adapter. I then added that hostname to the /etc/hosts file. Problem is when I reboot the ce1 interface is plumbed, but there it is not being configured with any ip addressing information. Is their something I'm missing? I can't seem to figure this one out.

Check the spelling of the info in /etc/hostname.ce1 versus /etc/hosts - best way is to grab the info in hostname.ce1 and grep for it in /etc/hosts - if it doesn't find an exact match, that's your issue.

The only other thing I can think of is that the network you are bringing up isn't working. Check this thread for other possible solutions.
