Network Very Interesting Problem

Ok Lets say i have a webpage on a solaris box. and i am trying to
make a hyperlink.

This hyperlink references a Microsoft Access file on a Windows box.

So, How do i make a file reference from The unix box to a windows box.

Things to keep in mind
--
1.) Solaris doesnt need to interpret it or open it or anything just access it.
2.) Assume the permissions are correct. this is a WIP ill work on that
problem later.

<a href="INeedToKnowWhatGoesHere">Click ME</a>
And to make this a little simpler

The IP of the box is 001.002.003.004(obviously doesnt work but just use it)
the file on the windows box im tring to access is at "C:/Donkeypunch"

Best of luck lol im stumped.

Im going under the impression that NAT should be exactly the same. the diff is NTFS, dont know that Unix recognises that. but Im trying to access the Directory through Firefox. So i would assume Firefox Understands NTFS.

Code:
<a href="INeedToKnowWhatGoesHere">Clickme</a>

This is for an Intranet site.

Is the html file shared over a NAS?

Well, how are you sharing this donkeypunch file? Regardless of the OS, you need to share that file somehow
You could:
- start a web server in the Windows box so your hyperlink hits the Windows web server.
- move the file to the Solaris server (either physically move the file or mount c:\ remotely)

Assuming users dont need to update it you have three options:

A. install IIS or apache on the windows box, share the file, and reference your link to it
B. host the file off your solaris server and reference your link to it
C. share the directory with microsoft file sharing, mount the share on solaris under your apache directory, and reference your link to it

Option B would be by far the easiest.

If your users need to modify this file I would recommend hosting off your Solaris box and create two links on your site. One for Windows users and another for unix users. Share the file out via NFS/SAMBA, and reference each link with the appropriate style. You will probably have to use automounting on your unix machines.

UNIX: /path/to/file
Windows: \\server\path\to\file
