Question newbie curiousity.....
do shell commands have some of the same functionality as programming languages?

bash and korne are similar (from what i've been told), but is one more stable or better than the other? is it personal preference similar to C++ vs. JAVA?

is there any website that lists all the attributes -l vs -d vs -foobar and there explanations?

i dont understand your useage of flags.

but as far as shells goes i believe it is a personal preferance.

try this link out and investigate from there.
