Shell Programming and Scripting

Hello,
I am trying to write a script where a user inputs a region number on a host server and based on the region number the script will log onto a few boxes and read a flat file and store the contents of the file on the host server.

Any direction/sample script to do this task will be highly appreciated.

? are you connecting to different places based on the answer?
Perahaps a bunch of if statements, or case statement
