mb_strlen - Get string length
SYNOPSIS
mixed mb_strlen (string $str, [string $encoding = mb_internal_encoding()])
DESCRIPTION
Gets the length of a string.
PARAMETERS
o $str
- The string being checked for length.
o $encoding
-The $encoding parameter is the character encoding. If it is omitted, the internal character encoding value will be used.
RETURN VALUES
Returns the number of characters in string$str having character encoding $encoding. A multi-byte character is counted as 1.
Returns FALSE if the given $encoding is invalid.
Warning
This function may return Boolean FALSE, but may also return a non-Boolean value which evaluates to FALSE. Please read the section on
Booleans for more information. Use the === operator for testing the return value of this function.
