Standard C Library (libc, -lc)

The above functions perform character tests and conversions on the integer c. They are available as macros, defined in the include file
<ctype.h>, or as true functions in the C library. See the specific manual pages for more information.
Extended locale versions of these functions are documented in ctype_l(3). See xlocale(3) for more information.

Hello,
Does somebody know what is happening here? This piece of code should skip leading spaces (and others).
If isspace encounters a non space character, it doesn't return false.
If we analyze the " isspace(*cs_str);" in the debugger, it returns 0. If we check the value in b_space after... (4 Replies)

Hello All,
I am trying to match white space in patterns through - Grep
I tried ] & ] but none of them worked.
Then I tried Perl extension '\s' and it worked.
So just wanted to know if ] & ] are still supported or have they become deprecated.
However they have been mentioned in the... (3 Replies)
I have a white-spaces delimited text file. I want to put a tab (\t) between the first and second column (or after the first white-space) and untouch the rest of the white-spaces. Would you let me know the best way to do it.

Hello!
I have one problem with my bash script - I would like to be able to read white space characters from stdin (for example single " ") - can I acomplish that somehow? I need to read only one character at the time, so I use read -s -n 1 var but it doesn't work for whitespaces apparently.
