how we can find whether net is enabled or not
with out using ping
is there anyway please guide me

ifconfig, traceroute, netstat -rn, netstat -na|grep ESTAB [ look for foreigh addresses, not local ones ], dig; If you have LYNX browser installed, search for a webpage.
