NAME
vxconfig - Veritas Volume Manager configuration device
SYNOPSIS
/dev/vx/config
DESCRIPTION
The vxconfig device is the interface through which all changes to the volume driver state are performed in Veritas Volume Mananger (VxVM). This device can only be opened by one process at a time. The initial volume configuration is downloaded into the kernel through this device. The vxconfigd process updates the configuration through this device. The vxconfigd process was designed to be the sole and exclu- sive owner of this device. As such, the ioctl interface between vxconfigd and the device is considered an internal interface and is not documented here.
