XtPending() XtPending()
Name
XtPending - determine if there are any events in an application's input queue.
Synopsis
XtInputMask XtPending()
Inputs
None.
Returns
An XtInputMask which indicates what kind of events, if any, are pending on app_context.
Availability
XtPending() has been superseded by XtAppPending().
Description
XtAppPending() returns a nonzero value if there are pending events from the X server, timer, or other input sources.
The return value is a bit mask that is the OR of XtIMXEvent (an X event), XtIMTimer (a timer event-see XtAppAddTimeOut()), and XtIMAlter-
nateInput (an alternate input event-see XtAppAddInput()).
Usage
XtPending() has been superseded by XtAppPending(), which performs the same function on a per-application context basis. XtPending() now
calls XtAppPending() passing the default application context created by XtInitialize(). Very few programs need multiple application con-
texts, and you can continue to use XtPending() if you initialize your application with XtInitialize(). We recommend, however, that you use
XtAppInitialize(), XtAppPending(), and the other XtApp*() application context specific functions.
See XtAppPending() for more information.
Programs rarely need this much control over the event dispatching mechanism. Most programs use XtAppMainLoop().

XtProcessEvent() XtProcessEvent()
Name
XtProcessEvent - get and process one input event of a specified type.
Synopsis
void XtProcessEvent(mask)
XtInputMask mask;
Inputs
mask Specifies what types of events to process.
Availability
XtProcessEvent() has been superseded by XtAppProcessEvent().
Description
XtProcessEvent() processes one X event, alternate input source event or timer event. The mask argument specifies which types of events are
to be processed; it is the bitwise inclusive OR ( ) of any of the values XtIMXEvent, XtIMTimer, or XtIMAlternateInput, or the value XtIMAll
which specifies all three event types. XtProcessEvent() calls any registered background work procedures if there are no events available,
and blocks if there are no events and no work procedures.
Usage
XtProcessEvent() has been superseded by XtAppProcessEvent(), which performs the same function on a per-application context basis. XtPro-
cessEvent() now calls
XtAppProcessEvent() passing the default application context created by
XtInitialize(). Very few programs need multiple application contexts, and you can
continue to use XtProcessEvent() if you initialize your application with
XtInitialize(). We recommend, however, that you use XtAppInitialize(), XtAppProcessEvent(), and the other XtApp*() application context
specific functions.
See XtAppProcessEvent() for more information.

I have seen some misinformation regarding Unix file permissions. I will try to set the record straight. Take a look at this example of some output from ls:

I used to use ls -l cut to detrmine file size, and google searches didn't come up with anything else but 'stat' which doesn't appear on HPUX.
I discovered the humble 'wc -c' which does this job very neatly, and thought I would share it. (7 Replies)

Hi,
I am very new to HP-UX, and we're going to be doing a SAN migration.
We're going to take down the machine, and zone it to the new SAN.

If the new disks come in with different device names, how would I... (3 Replies)
