ftpcount - show current number of users for each class
SYNOPSIS DESCRIPTION
The command shows the current number of users (and the limit) for each class defined in the ftpaccess file. If the file does not exist, the
command will not display anything. However, if the file exists and it is of zero bytes, will display an error message:
The option causes the program to display copyright and version information, then terminate.
EXIT STATUS
returns:
0 successful
1 failure

SYNOPSIS
ftpcount [-v] [-V]
DESCRIPTION
Use the ftpcount command to show the current number of users logged in and the login limit for each FTP Server class defined in the ftpac-
cess(4) file.
OPTIONS
The ftpcount command supports the following options:
-v Display the user counts for FTP Server classes defined in virtual host ftpaccess(4) files.
-V Display program copyright and version information, then terminate.
EXIT STATUS
The following exit values are returned:
0 Successful completion.
>0 An error occurred.

For separate class counts to be kept, class names defined in complete virtual host ftpaccess files must be unique.

I am trying to write a script to connect to remote host and ftp some files there.
The problem i am facing is,I dont know how to specify username and password for remote host through scripting.
and even if i am able to connect to remote host,then how should i execute

I am using the code below to grep through a list of files (TEMPFILE) and look for rsync, rdist, rsh, ftp, etc. in each file. Do a count of each, and output that to a logfile.
This works great in Linux, but not at all in Solaris because the EGREP -o option does not exist.

I am creating an array, and then using case to go through and count for specific words. Then the count gets stored as an expression.
