Hi all,
Please give me one example session to create a tar file in unix

when you type into your shell "man tar" there are some examples...

Question tar does not work from another directorries
hi Folks,

i have the files as
/winter2005/unix

in /unix

i have x y z.tar

i have the run the command tar cf z.tar x y

cp z.tar ~/winter2005

which gave me z.tar in /winter2005

now i try to run the command tar xf ~/winter2005/z.tar

but that does not work

but when i try to extract it from the /winter2005 it does work.

vas wrong ...

i figured it out
hi folks

I was trying to unpack at different location , and trying to view at different location
