Question Bash Help Please :)
Heya, everyone I'm trying to play a random file from my Videos file i have come up with this. But i need help to play the movie with vlc. I'm sorry if this is a silly question I'm just stuck.
Code:
#!/bin/bash

Movies='/home/josh/Videos'

    cd $Movies

    ls | sed -n  "$((RANDOM%$(ls | wc -l)+1))p"

where are you stuck, I am assuming you are getting the random filename from that sed command, if so, to play that through vlc, do this:

vlc `ls | sed -n  "$((RANDOM%$(ls | wc -l)+1))p"`

Thanks heaps I thought it would be simple i just could not work it out.

I was just getting before the filename.
