What is it exactly that a "Source Code" mean

If this is the wrong forum, kindly direct me to the right place.

I am planning on going on an interview and I'd like to know what "source code" mean. this is a stupid question, of course, to most of you but hey, can you just tell me?? thank you

I heard that I might be asked to bring in scripts I've written and since I have written a few shell programs, I dont know exactly what to bring them. They said not to bring in the actual source code. so what is it I have to bring to them?

Weird question....Source Code 'is' the code. The only thing I can think of regarding them wanting you to bring scripts and not source code - is that they want it on Paper - not files?

Generally speaking we think of 'source code' as text instructions that are processed by a compiler to 'binary code'.... used in terms of C programs, C++ programs, etc.

Shell scripts are not compiled, so some might call them 'source code' but generally that term is used for code before it is compiled, I THINK Smilie

So, I would guess that you should bring in your shell scripts..... but not any C program code .... maybe ?!
