crontab problem

Hello,

I have this in the crontab

30 2 * * * /bin/sh /home/abc

but in the log it looks run below

Jan 27 08:30:01 localhost crond[14421]: (root) CMD (/bin/sh /home/abc

how could this happen?

I logged in with root user,I use root user's crontab.

Kind Regards

It's possible that syslog here is using gmtime, as opposed to cron's using localtime. Or, perhaps you adjusted the timezone after restarting cron.

Hello,
how can I check whether syslog uses gmtime and cron uses localtime?
what is the connection between those?
Best Regards

Okay, you can do "logger -p local7.crit test $RANDOM" and you will see a timestamp (probably on console, but also on every terminal) of what syslog thinks is the current time. You can then put in a cron job that runs every minute...
Code:
* * * * * /bin/true

Then check the cron log to see the times output. If there's still a discrepancy, stop the cron daemon, stop the syslog server, then start syslog and then cron. Test again.

Oops! I meant local7.crit. Sorry. If that fails, try local0 or local6
