Data help

i have red hat fedora 5
most important thing is i have no experience of linux or unix whatever it is called at all i don't know how to use terminal also
i have been provided the hp laptop with it as i am the member of indian judiciary system and now by some mistake i have deleted a user directory called judge
so i am not able to log in and i can only start terminal so please help me make a new user or help me recover the lost user directory through terminal.

If you have infact deleted the directory there is no builtin functions to "undelete".

There are software packages you can purchase but I do not know how well they work.

so atleast help me making a new user with help of terminal i have a bash shell and then i will try to recover the lost data by some softwares

If you are able to log in as root or something, you can run useradd judge -- but that will only create a very skeletal home directory, which might not be enough for logging into a graphical environment.

so how to get my graphical mode back and what the use of adding a user if not getting a graphical mode
and can u recommend a software which help me to recover lost files and that to a free software if possible or any commercial is also ok.

Hate to put it this way, but the conventional solution is called "backups".
