Run a script during reboot/startup

Hi all,
i have a script in /etc/init.d directory.

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 26 Mar 28 16:00 myscript

I need it to run when my linux reboots/startup. However is it not being executed. Do i need to put in in the rc.local directory?

In rc.local is written :

Quote:
# This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts.
# You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't
# want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.
