linux and windows installation

Hi every one, I just downloaded linux iso to my pc then burn them . I have a space in my hard drive that is no partitioned yet . I would like to add linux and have the ability to choose witch boot option I need . The problem is that I READ the linux / window dual boot .but it looks like it is advanced for me ot this is just fear of scewing things up .. so I need some help here to what to do first .. I know this mutch . to put the linux cd1 on the cd drive and boot after that is mistery .. Thanks for your help

I did down load cd 1-2-3-4-5
now when I burn the cd . I have this files that are attached with this msg . I did create fat32 partion . but when I start a my pc so I can install linux . I only get a windows .. pls chk the attachement to see if there is any reason why I am not downloading from cd ..

You have fedora core linux.

I cannot tell whether the CD is bootable or not by looking at a file listing. The right files are there, but just having the files doesn't make it bootable. But, if you burned the ISO exactly as you downloaded it, it's probably bootable.

It is possible that your computer is set to boot from hard disk first. Try changing the boot order in the CMOS settings so that it checks the CDROM first. That way it will check to see if there's a bootable CD and boot that if present, but still boot to the hard drive when there is no CD. How to do this varies from computer to computer, but it is done outside any operating system; hitting DEL immediately after you turn on your computer works for some. Watch for messages like 'Hit F2 for setup' and such before it starts booting Windows.

I could search and find an installation readme like you're reading, but there's so much info out there it'd be hard to guarantee I was looking at the same guide you are. Could you link me to it?
